Level up, bro!

Last year, when I first decided to give starting a custom party supply business any real thought, I was in the midst of helping my sister to plan my nephew's 4th birthday party. The amount of encouragement and confidence she gave me this past year is unmatched. Over and over again throughout this first year of business, I've called her to show her the latest thing I had created and she has said, "LEVEL UP, BRO!"
After we planned Carter's 5th party, I knew I had to dedicate my first blog post to that party. So here we are....
When I found out we were doing a Super Mario Bros theme, I was pumped! I immediately started thinking of all the themed party food we could do. Carter requested specifically Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, and Donkey Kong to be on his cake. After several lengthy discussions on cake, we locked down those plans with my favorite cake lady, Julie Thomas. Y'all, her cakes are heavenly. They're so moist, have a wonderful taste, plenty of icing, and beautiful too!

We went with a confetti cake with chocolate buttercream and fondant on top and vanilla buttercream with fondant add-ons on the bottom layer. She knocked it out of the park no doubt, and Carter was THRILLED so it was a win! The cake topper was designed and created by me!

Macy requested an "old school" Mario banner backdrop. I created that using banner paper, sticker paper, my silhouette machine and a 6ft balloon garland for the clouds. It looked so cute and made the perfect photo op! {peep that adorable custom balloon marquee 😍}

For balloons, Macy asked if there was some way to make it half Mario and half donkey Kong. Uhmm... absolutely! When I think of Donkey Kong, I think bananas, vines, jungle, and barrels. I'm not gonna lie, the barrel was a challenge, but it turned out great in the end. The bunches of bananas hanging literally had me squealing. I wish I could've left these up for weeks.

The party food consisted of Carters coin nuggets (chicken nuggets), fire power (cheese balls), piranha plants (strawberries and grapes on skewers), mini banana splits, power up punch, Waters and Yoshi tongues (fruit by the foot) - I custom wrapped those. 😍

You can't have a kid's party without something to entertain them! So, obviously, we planned to play Mario games on the switch... for the kids of course... 😉. I had an idea to make props for the tv that would make it look like a giant Nintendo Switch. It turned out perfect, and I'm gonna be honest.. I left those up a few weeks after the party 😍.

I had a blast seeing this party come to life. Every detail was perfect! Do you and your family love Mario? If you're planning a Super Mario Bros party, message me and let's level up your event!
